Who we are

TasteTrail is a map-based guide to wineries and cheese dairies in Israel. We are the data controller for the personal data described below and can be reached at [email protected].

Data we collect

When you sign in with Google or Facebook we receive your name, email address and profile photo from the provider. We do not receive your password.

When you use the AI assistant, we store your messages and the assistant replies so the conversation can continue.

If you choose to share your location, it is used only to sort places by distance and is stored locally on your device.

How we use your data

We use your data to:

• sign you in and keep you signed in (session)
• show your name and avatar in the interface
• provide the AI assistant and store chat history
• protect the service against abuse and blocked accounts

Cookies and local storage

We use a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in, and two preference cookies to remember your language and theme. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

The map and external services (Google Fonts, Mapbox, OAuth providers) may set their own cookies or make network requests; please see their own privacy policies.

Who we share data with

We share your chat messages with an AI provider (OpenAI) solely to generate replies.

We do not sell personal data. We may disclose data where required by law.

How long we keep data

Your account, chat history and profile are kept for as long as your account exists. A login session lasts 30 days.

When you delete your account, your profile, chat history and sessions are permanently erased.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time from the account menu ("Delete account"), which permanently erases your profile, chat history and sessions.

If you cannot sign in, email [email protected] with the email address or name used to sign in and we will delete your data.

If you remove TasteTrail from your Facebook settings, Facebook sends us an automatic deletion request and we erase the linked data.

Your rights

You may request access, correction or deletion of your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact [email protected].

You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
